How to Use AfricaConnect Marketplace

Welcome to AfricaConnect! This guide will walk you through the platform's essential features, from creating an account to listing your first item.

1. Getting Started: Install the App or Save to Home-screen

• Navigate to AfricaConnect Marketplace: From your browser, go to AfricaConnect Marketplace

• For Android Users:

  • Step 1: Open https://africaconnectmarketplace.com in your browser and click on the three (3) dots at the top right corner.

  • Step 2: Click on Add to Home screen as shown below

  • Step 3: Click on Install under the Add to home screen as shown by the arrow.

  • Step 4: Click on Install as shown by the arrow.

  • Step 5: The app should be installed in your apps directory, as shown by the arrow below.

  • Step 6: You can drag and add the app to your home screen for easy access.

2. Creating Your Account

To begin, you need to create an account. This will be your personal portal to buy, sell, and interact with other users on the marketplace.

• Navigate to the Sign-Up Page: Click the “Sign Up” button on the top right of the homepage.

• Choose a signup Method: You can choose Google, Facebook, Email or Phone Number signup

• Fill in Your Details: Provide your name, email address or phone, country, and a secure password for email or phone method

• Log In: Once your account is created, you can log in from the “Login” page at any time.

3. Exploring the Marketplace

Once you're logged in, you can start exploring what others have for sale.

• Browse Listings: The homepage displays featured listings. You can scroll through to see what's new and popular.

• Search and Filter: Use the search bar to look for specific items. You can use natural language like “cheap red shoes.” You can further refine your search by applying filters for country, category, and price.

• View Listing Details: Click on any item to see more details, including additional photos, a complete description, seller information, and the item's location on a map.

4. Selling Your First Item

Ready to sell? Creating a listing is simple with our AI-powered form.

• Go to the “Sell” Page: Click the “Sell” button in the header.

• Choose Your Listing Duration: The Default is a free listing that lasts for 30 days.

• Upload Images: Start by uploading clear photos of your item. Our AI will automatically suggest a category for you based on the images.

• Fill in the Details:

  • Title: Give your listing a clear, descriptive title.

  • Description: Our AI can help generate a compelling description based on your title.

  • Listing Type: Physical product versus a service.

  • Price & Country: Set your price in your local currency.

  • Location Info: Type in your City Name

  • Contact Info: Provide your contact details for potential buyers.

  • Create Listing: Click Create Listing to submit your listing

5. Contacting a Seller & Chat

Found something you like? It's easy to get in touch with the seller.

• On the listing page, you can call, email, or start a real-time chat with the seller.

• Real-time Chat: Starting a chat opens a dedicated conversation page where you can ask questions and negotiate. You'll receive notifications for new messages.

6. Managing Your Account

Your profile is your personal hub for managing your activity on AfricaConnect.

• My Listings: View all the items you have for sale. From here, you can edit, delete, or relist expired items.

• Saved Searches: Save your favorite search criteria to get notified when new items match what you're looking for.

• My Packages: You can view your available activation codes here if you've purchased any listing packages.
